  1. Was checking out a bunch of Badfinger vids, reading up on their history, & thinking back on all the power pop fans here, & decided to check in w folks here. I used to post a lot in the forum here & hope many or most of the same folks are still around. Lots of you I met at the reunion concert in Cleveland at that magnificent theatre downtown, where the Raspberries KILLED and we all had a great time partying before, during, & after the show (I also caught them in LA @ House of Blues reunion show). Hope everyone's been well & can drop in & say hey! - Austinberries
  2. Man I thought there were a buncha musicians/gearheads on these boards... Not a single guess among the ones around, eh? guess I hafta go back to discussin' politix to get a rise..
  3. ok, that is hilariously funny - tony, u should inject as much ironic accuracy into ur politix!
  4. $67,000 to whoever can name the mfgr of the bass i am playing in the picture (far left) at my signature link below.. on the far right is a guy named JJ - you've heard him play bass before on the impossibly catchy mega-hit 'Kiss Me' by Sixpence None the Richer!
  5. ec quotes: "I miss working with each and every one of them." to which the house replies: "well if u miss them so much, why don't ya (marry them? no..) put on some more 'berries shows!!" ;-) we all know it ain't as easy as it sounds, but life could be worse not having die-hard fans like the 3k or so of us who packed the downtown cleveland theatre not so long ago; hell, we'd do it again, i'd wager!
  6. wow, so who was singing lead on the beatles cover? wasnt ec, right? oops, never mind, hadnt looked at page 2 of the thread b4 i posted
  7. easily the weirdest music 'news of the weird' this year. terribly tragic too. what a great band ELO was.. may he have his cello in heaven w/ him.. thx for the music, Mike!
  8. i love it, but any version done anywhere by anyone is, let's face it, downhill from the 'berries; still, glad to see 'em pluggin' away at it & keeping the fire burning by wearing their influences proudly on their sleeves! love dude's pronunciation of 'tonight' in the video.. way to go clifford records!
  9. dante looks young still, & paul schaeffer intro'ed him as "the guy who opened the door for me to the music biz" or some such accolade cant say i ever knew what the guy looked like, tho i'm sure i saw a pic b4
  10. fresh, dont let it kill ya, just pass the peace pipe & know i never meant no harm w/ my colloquial comfort zone, which def doesnt include NJ
  11. .. was on Letterman tonight w/ PS the band
  12. i TOTALLY want that hair! luckily, there's enuff for us to split it
  13. hollies - look at us agreeing on sumthin! u should hear it, its a load of cr*p..
  14. oops, looks like 1 orig member (steve priest, bass) + a bunch of LA heavy metal guys <groan>. they tout a "new single" which is none other than... a heavy metal version of "i saw her standing there" - color me soured (get it?) & jaded!
  15. maybe i missed this before, but did y'all know The Sweet is reunited/touring? i think w/ 2 orig members. now there's some power pop for ya, w/ a side of glam. i wonder if EC & the 'berries dug 'em?
