  1. Not that I am a fan of Madonna but she reinvents herself with every album. I think artists who try something new are excepted by the people more than they might have been in earlier years. Things are changing faster and faster. You might lose a few people along the way but at the same time you gain a new audience.
  2. Mike Meros was a long long time friend of mine. I was shocked to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed!!!

  4. There was a conversation about this in the "Play On" section. There are so many great songs that Eric and the band could translate!!
  5. I was just thinking it would be SO NICE to have a Raspberries Christmas CD for the collection. How about Eric singing - Baby It's Cold Outside!? Wally taking lead - Blue Christmas?

  9. FYI - At Brian Wilson's concert last night at UCLA's Royce Hall - Raspberrie Music was played. I am sure Eric would get a kick out of knowing that.

  16. "They do 'River Song' better than Dennis." -- Al Jardine We're hitting the road! Adam Marsland's Chaos Band (featuring Evie Sands and special guest ENDLESS HARMONY director Alan Boyd) are touring our 90-minute SONGS OF DENNIS & CARL WILSON set throughout the Midwest. You can hear live mp3s from our performance at www.myspace.com/denniscarltour. IMPORTANT: Because of the complexity of our set up (five vocals/three keyboards), we are the FIRST band at MOST shows. To see the whole show, try to arrive at or near the scheduled times below. Ticket prices vary but are generally between $8-10. Some venues offer pre-sell tickets at their websites, but you should be OK at the door if you come early. If ask, BE SURE TO TELL THEM YOU ARE THERE TO SEE US. This helps make sure the band gets its share of the door. TOUR STARTS NEXT WEEK. 17. Check out: http://www.myspace.com/denniscarltour ADAM MARSLAND'S CHAOS BAND (featuring Evie Sands) and ALAN BOYD are bringing their "Songs of Carl and Dennis Wilson" set, which has earned enthusiastic praise from fans and musicians alike (most notably Beach Boy Al Jardine), to the Midwest in May, '06. One night of the tour is May, 21 2006 at Beachland Tavern -maybe some of you will have a chance to see them.
  18. In 2000, Brian Wilson did part of his Pet Sounds tour using local orchestras to support him. It would really be a interesting concert and experience for both the fans and Eric if he could tour. My fingers are crossed.
  19. Tommy Scheckel is the drummer for the Buckinghams..he would drum for Gary Lewis, The Turtles and Gary Puckett when they toured with the "Happy Together Tour" in the 80's. He also was in the Johnny & The Leisure Suits with Jonathan Brandmeier when Jonathan was a hot DJ in Chicago on the LOOP.
  20. I am a huge Beach Boy fan and follower. (I am also into numerous 60's & 70's bands.) In the early 80's, I got all into New Wave and Punk music. I had a semi mohawk with a hot pink tail. At one Beach Boy concert one of the bandmembers stopped and pulled on my tail and said "my kids would LOVE this". I have everything from Big Bands to Velvet Revolver in my CD collection.
  21. Brian Wilson, Wondermints and The Beach Boys to name only a few!! He is a perfectionist.
  22. Love's co-writers were Scott Mackenzie (San Francisco), Terry Melcher (Doris Day's son/Bruce Johnston's friend), and John Phillips. Biggest hit they had since Good Vibrations.
  23. I second that! He was an amazing person and talent. Elvis Costello said "Whatever it sounds like, it's always like a forwards and a backwards tape going at the same time. Carl Wilson style of singing. It was like this – it's so lovely. It's like he's singing and almost taking the word back into his mouth as he's singing it. And it's – it draws you in to the story."
  24. Peter shouldn't be forgotten. He is a real musician and still works on current projects. He is pretty multi-talented too.
  25. You admire Brian Wilson and wrote in his style. What was it in his arrangements that inspired you?
