  1. "I Don't Know What I Want (But I Want It Wrapped")
  2. Proverbial other obligations have come up and I can't go. Anyone want 2 in row F in the mezzanine, get a hold of me.
  3. Was Billy Sullivan there? I thought I spotted him.
  4. Sure they can. Its precisely because they know they aren't expected to sell milions and get top 40 hits that older artists with smaller fan bases can follow their muse and make the kind of music they want. Mark Knopfler, Jackson Browne, John Hiatt, Nick Lowe and yes Eric Carmen's last albums of new material were all cases of the artists making the music they wanted to.
  5. You should be optimistic. Its a rocker. Easily his most accessible and commercial work since BITUSA.
  6. Definitely can see a Raspberries influence in him. He could do well.
  7. 1. I Wanna Be With You 2. Let's Pretend 3. Overnight Sensation 4. Ecstasy 5. Starting Over 6. Should I Wait 7. Cruisin' Music 8. Tonight 9. I'm A Rocker 10. I Can Remember
  8. I don't think it usually works that way. Its not as simple as here are the levels from last night. Bands and their crews want to check everything is ready to go for the show - instruments, house sound, monitor sound. And after a show the night before they may want to make some adjustments during the soundcheck.
  9. I've heard the Springsteen CD and I can't say enough about how good it is. His best in years. The single "Radio Nowhere" is probably the weakest song on it. Add to the track listing "Terry's Song", a tribute to his late friend Terry McGovern. My favorite track "Girls in Their Summer Clothes". Its got a slight PetSounds era Beach Boys feel to the rhythm (sort of like "Cruisin' Music"), a great melody and lyrics that really invoke a sense of nostalgia for me. Brilliant song! Brilliant album.
  10. Sounds more like Warren Zevon's "Splendid Isolation" than Tommy Tutone.
  11. The most popular local band in Pittsburgh. Scott Blasey is a talented songwriter. A couple of my faves by them are "Born Too Late" and "Hey You" which he wrote on the afternoon of 9/11. They also do a great cover of Prince's "Kiss" on their first live CD. Blasey and guitarist Rob James from time to time used to do acoustic gigs as the Dick Clarks.
  12. Men be careful! There are reports from several cities of men being lured into hotel rooms by beautiful women. The men have been reportedly drugged and have woken up in ice-filled bathtubs with their kidneys missing.
  13. Michael Stanley said it best about local paper newspaper music critics in "Midwest Midnight" (an incredible song!): He was taken to task By some ctritic who asked Do you write the words or lyrics first?
  14. Hungry Heart is the song he uses most for having guests . Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Hornsby, Eddie Vedder and Bono are among the other people who've joined him on stage to sing it
  15. backstreets.com, the website for THE Bruce Springsteen fanzine sells Springsteen and related artists CD's and memorabilia has both retail versions of LOSS for sale. Good exposure to the Springsteen fans.
  16. While Springsteen doesn't use opening acts, he's been known to bring musical guests on stage with him when he's using the E Street Band. Rumored Cleveland date Nov. 4. I wouldn't miss it. I wonder if Eric is memorizing the 2nd verse of "Hungry Heart".
  17. To my knowledge Bruce has never used an opening act. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to start.
  18. It is a very striking cover. I love the angles and lines of the photograph. This really makes me miss vinyl albums and 12" by 12" album covers.
  19. OMG! I was thinking I was beginning to think I was the only person in the world who knew that great song! Last year I tracked down and bought a copy of the album from a place that incudes a transfer to CD along with the LP. And it gets frequent play on my mp3 player. Let me add: That's The Way Love Oughta Be - Donnie Iris Small Circles - Rainmakers
  20. A whole bunch of new songs for Paul Sidoti to learn.
  21. Jackson Browne Springsteen's first album was 73. So include him in the "[ish]" Yes, or it members, still put out new music once in awhile.
  22. Congratulations Eric, Wally, Jim & Dave!!! I can only imagine how great it must feel for you guys to have this day finally get here and have a new Raspberries CD in the stores after all these years. It really is quite an accomplishment. And many cheers to your families, the Overdubs, your crew, Mark Linett and everybody that helped make the reunion shows and this album possible!
  23. Not only do they have the track list screwed up on Amazon, the audio samples for disc 2 don't match what they have listed. So click on those ones as well for samples of songs not listed.
