  1. LOVE the Marvelous 3 tune "You're So Yesterday," especially the lyric that goes "I feel like Bobby Brady breaking the vase." You DO remember that Brady Bunch episode, don't you?
  2. I've been waiting for the Piper albums to be released in the U.S. on CD - I think they were only available as super-rare (and super-expensive) Japanese import CD's at one time. Robert A. Johnson - wow! Haven't heard that name in a while....the LP was called CLOSE PERSONAL FRIEND, correct?
  3. Cool stuff! Hopefully he won't be singing "Hard to Get Over a Hangover." "Rose Coloured Chablis" would be a much nicer tune...or "I Reach For the Light Beer"... It's all "Boozin' Music"...
  4. Myracle Brah! Yes! Especially their LIFE ON PLANET EARTSNOP disc from 1997, which gave them the distinction of having one of the silliest band names AND album titles ever. Great album, though...
  5. Billy, If the Dodgers make the World Series this year, it will be a miracle of historic proportions...
  6. Great list, Popcorn Double Feature!
  7. DEFINITELY Fountains of Wayne! Also: THE RUBINOOS CHRIS VON SNEIDERN (first two albums) ADAM SCHMITT ("World So Bright" album) MARK JOHNSON ("12 in a Room" album) JEFFREY FOSKETT (GORGEOUS voice!) EUGENE EDWARDS CLIFF HILLIS I could go on and on....
  8. There's also a new Teenage Fanclub record out called MAN MADE (haven't heard it yet, so can't vouch for it), as well as a cool TF tribute album (titled WHAT A CONCEPT!) on Not Lame Records. LOve those tracks you mentioned, also, Angloberry!
  9. And I hear Herman doesn't even like lemonade, Tony!
  10. Saturday on the 405 is a crapshoot; it usually backs up in a few spots, often in Southern Orange County (past Disneyland). But really, you never know...
  11. Tony C. wrote: <<I must hit both shows, and meet my idols and their nutty groupies!>> OK, Tony, I know Dar and Kathy are your idols, but who are their groupies?
  12. "Mexican Wine" is a good one, too...
  13. Yes, Dar, totally! Or, in the immortal words of Greg Kihn: "I'm beside myself because I can't get next to you."
  14. Barrb, are yu saying thatt us Calaforninians ain't goood spelers? Cum on! I can spel Razzberrys. Sea?
  15. Ron, will you go with me? Stein Mart, here we come!
  16. YAY! YIPPEE! HIP HIP HOORAY! I'll be there...both shows!
  17. Tony, here's to you feeling better soon! May you never have to sing that old tune "Hard to Get Over a Hernia."
  18. I'm going nuts out here in CA waiting for the 'Berries to come out west. Hopefully this will happen before they're all in their 70s! Of course, if it does take that long, they can always change some of the song titles... "Go Half the Way" "I Wanna Be With My Doctor" "Overnight Medication" "Let's Depends" "I'm in a Rocker" "I Reach for the Clapper" "Hard to Get Over a Heartburn" "Rock and Roll Grandmama" "I Can't Get it Moving" Stir crazy in CA....
  19. God, what a fabulous song! Was just listening to it again yesterday, and was struck, as always, by the Phil Spector-ish production, Eric's perfect, yearning lead vocal, the fiery instrumental attack and the sheer power of the whole thing. Great, great song....
  20. You sound like a very proud dad, and with good reason! Have fun!
  21. Yes, I think it's one of their finest tracks. Aggressive delivery, classic Carmen lyrics and a typically great melody. I always thought this would have been a perfect tune for Rod Stewart and the Faces...
