...and a hell of a lot sexier than Lee Marshall.

Yeah, he was great. Is he still married to Weezie and running that dry cleaners?

I hear ya, Eric; I took my daughter to see Hannah Montana twice late last year and while we both really enjoyed the show, I was more struck by the incessant screaming by the kiddos. It was very cute, and ear piercing at the same time. I also told a bunch of folks that this is what Beatlemania must have been like.

Happy New Year! For those of you in the greater Los Angeles area, I wanted to let you know that the book release show for my new(ish) book, SHAKE SOME ACTION: THE ULTIMATE POWER POP GUIDE, is next Friday, January 11. The fun, mirth and musical merriment begins at 9:00pm at Fitzgerald's Irish Pub, located at 19171 Magnolia St. in Huntington Beach. Come and help me celebrate the release of SSA and watch as I attempt to play drums with three of the acts listed below without making a complete fool of myself! The party will feature live performances from several artists featured in the book...oh, and speaking of the book (aren't I always?), copies will also be available for purchase at the show, should you be so inclined. I've also heard rumors that there might even be some dessert-type stuff there to munch on, too. And the cover charge for the whole shebang? Only $5.00 - such a deal! Here's the lineup: 9:00 - sparklejets*uk (their first live performance in over a year!) 9:45 - Kenny Howes (with his brand new band!) 10:30 - Barry Holdship Four (their drummer is very old!) 11:15 - Walter Clevenger & the Dairy Kings (they OWN Fitzgerald's, baby!) 12:00 - Robbie Rist/The Popdudes (a rare live performance from Robbie!) Hope to see some of you there!

Les Nessman.

I know this is horrible and tasteless, but somehow the headline in the NY Post announcing Ike's passing was also strangely hilarious: "Ike Turner 'Beats' Tina to Death."

Especially not the guy who served as the producer for the "Right to Chews: Bubblegum Classics Revisited" CD...

JohnO, you are a very wise man.....and 100% correct, I might add, on all counts.

Maybe try miniature golf instead. Or perhaps a video game tournament.

You mean during the parts when he sang?

You're welcome, Trindy. It's nice to be remembered. Hey, when you go to the Cleveland show, please say hi to Ken Sharpie for me.

No disrespect meant to Beavis OR Butthead.
