  1. I didn't PM you with a daytime phone number, but someone was "thoughtful" enough to give out my work number without my permission....
  2. You and I - Marvin Matthews
  3. But what about "Ab" by The Pranks?
  4. No, Anna was a no-talent freak show who obviously would sleep with anything that moved (and some that barely could) to attempt to "get ahead."
  5. LOS ANGELES - The husband of actress Zsa Zsa Gabor said Friday that he had a decade-long affair with Anna Nicole Smith and may be her infant daughter's father. The claim by Prince Frederick von Anhalt comes amid a paternity suit over Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn. The birth certificate lists Dannielynn's father as attorney Howard K. Stern, but former Smith boyfriend Larry Birkhead is waging a legal challenge, saying he is the father. "If you go back from September, she wasn't with one of those guys, she was with me," von Anhalt told The Associated Press in an interview Friday. He said he would file a lawsuit if Dannielynn is turned over to Stern or Birkhead.
  6. Nice version. Is that Elephant's Memory playing with him? As far as other JL "deep cuts" (aside from the excellent ones you mentioned), I would include: * "Only People" * "Love" * "Crippled Inside" * "Oh My Love"
  7. Next time, S, I am SO there. Promise.
  8. Well, it might just be me, but - well-meaning feminist sentiments aside - I always found WITNOTW to be kind of a muddy, jumbled, overproduced mess of a song, and one with no real chorus to speak of. As far as musical feminist statements go, I'll take Helen Reddy's "I Am Woman."
  9. www.eggbert.com While you're there, check out the Hollies tribute disc, too - it's even better than the Bee Gees one...
  10. Hey, "I love you, you love me" by Barney the Purple Freaking Dinosaur was in my head all the time when my daughter was two years old, but that doesn't make it a good song. Tony, do yourself a favor and go put on "Horizontal," "If I Only Had My Mind on Something Else," "Words," "The First Mistake I Ever Made" or "Run to Me." Speaking of the Brothers Gibb, has anyone hear heard the Bee Gees tribute disc "Melody Fair?" It came out over 10 years ago now, and it's really quite splendid, with lovely performances from Chris von Sneidern, the late Phil Seymour, Material Issue and others. Highly recommended.
  11. LC, I was with ya on all the Lennon songs up until that last one...
  12. "Show World" (from 1997) is probably their most consistent effort, and includes gems such as "Mess Around," "Stoned" and "One Chord Progression," as well as an ace cover of "Pretty Please Me," which '70s popsters The Quick originally recorded (The Rembrandts' Danny Wilde was their lead vocalist). One of RK's best tunes is from 1990's "Third Eye" album - the spiffy, neo-'70s "Bubblegum Factory."
  13. It was 82 degrees here yesterday.
  14. We got rid of the carbonationGord, you handle the negotiation You're the man to talk to Bernie On Sesame Street, I liked Bert and Ernie.
  15. Good show, Gord. You could always tweak it a little: "Who the heck needs carbonation? try the milky white sensation it tastes smooooth goin' down even when it's chocolately and brown." Not bad, huh?
  16. But Gord, soda pop is brown, too.
  17. But what about chocolate milk, Gord? Huh?
  18. Introduced on national television by Barney Freaking Fife? It doesn't get any cooler than that.
  19. Yeah, same here. Wait, I already do that, too.
  20. I'll take "Mistaken Eric Carmen Album Titles" for $800, Alex...
  21. Rhodes was a true pioneer in the DIY pop movement...played/sang it all himself in his ggarage studio, and the S/T record was engineered by Keith Olsen, who went on to work with Fleetwood Mac, among others....
