  1. I was able to attend three shows as well, the second at B.B. King's, House of Blues in Atlantic City and the first at the Highline Ballroom in NYC. In retrospect it would have been great to have caught a couple more, but I'm ultimately glad to have been at the shows I was, meeting Wally twice and Dave once after two of the gigs, both being true gentlemen.
  2. Omnivore has scammed buyers many times with their false "Limited Releases", exorbitant pricing and the ability to crank out anything they can find by a band like the 'berries and Big Star to keep milking their fans. While I also bought this LP set from them I did not till the sale and still am very vocal about their dishonest and faulty buisiness practices. At least after spending $100 on the Limited Edition Raspberries collection from their site and later seeing it for half that price, they did this several years after the initial release so while on one level I felt I'd been ripped off it was nowhere near as bad as what Omnivore has constantly, and consistently done.
  3. Eric's money is Eric's money. No one has the right to take it from him, especially as he earned it creating music that has impacted us all.
  4. Howdy all, I just came across this listing, via an email notification, for the Raspberries Classic Album Box set, with an Amazon description as follows: RASPBERRIES BOX SET "The Raspberries were an American power pop/pop rock band formed in 1970 from Cleveland, Ohio. They had a run of success in the early 1970s music scene with their pop sound, which Allmusic later described as featuring ""exquisitely crafted melodies and achingly gorgeous harmonies."" The members were known for their clean-cut public image, with short-hair and matching suits, The group drew influence from the British Invasion era—especially The Beatles, The Who, The Hollies, and Small Faces—and its mod sensibility. In both the U.S. and the UK, the Raspberries helped pioneer the power pop music style that took off after the group disbanded. The group's ""classic"" lineup consisted of Eric Carmen (vocalist/guitarist/bassist), Wally Bryson (guitarist), Jim Bonfanti (drummer), and Dave Smalley (guitarist/bassist). Their best known songs include ""Go All the Way"", ""Let's Pretend"", ""I Wanna Be with You"", ""Tonight"", and ""Overnight Sensation (Hit Record)"". This box set contains all the 4 albums the band recorded for Capitol records, they have been re-mastered and the box also contains a20 page booklet with notes by Classic Rocks Malcolm Dome." While Amazon in the U.S. has it listed as an import for $37.99, you can actually order it directly from Amazon in the UK for $24.00 and change, plus shipping. While I have all four albums on vinyl, and as individual mini-LP imports, I've ordered two copies of this set as well; one for me and one as a gift. Let's see if the sound on these new reissues is any better than the last ones. Peace, Jeff
  5. I was at thew House of Blues show as well. It's a bummer about the closings, but the music will go on.
  6. Hummana, hummana, hummana ... a new Eric Carmen CD! Jeff Vargon Bronx, New York
  7. Thanks for the info Kirk. It's a drag they all can't let the past go, but it was great to have the band back while it lasted.
  8. Thanks Bernie. I remember reading something like that over a year ago but looking for the post last night could not find it. With some of the more "hopeful" fan posts I read recently I'd thought I might have imagined it. I'm glad I saw the band during the reunion shows the three times I did. Hopefully someone will post the link. Peace, Jeff
  9. Is it true? Are The Raspberries finished? Is there a post that finalizes their touring? Thanks in advance. Peace, Jeff
  10. Hi Eric, Thanks for the brutally frank, yet definitive answer to my question. The three times I saw you and the band during the 2005 - 2007 reunion gigs (B.B. Kings (second show), Atlantic City, and the first at the Highline Ballroom) I had the feeling something that good couldn't last. As great as those gigs were, I'm sorry I was right. Peace, Jeff
  11. Howdy, Did I miss something? What do you mean the Raspberries are "finished"? That their "fate is sealed"? Please elaborate. Thanks. Peace, Jeff

Eric is right. I live in New York City and it's always a major downer any time I'm in lower Manhattan not seeing the Towers there and flashing back to the horror of that day. People need to wake up and come to the understanding that what we've been told by the government and media about 9/11 has not been the truth. Seeing G.W.B. read that children's book with absolutely no look of surprise on his face when he's given the "news" of the first WTC plane crash is pretty glaring. While we can do nothing about it, and it is depressing as hell, knowing the truth is better than burying your head in the sand.
  13. Howdy, "Dexter" kicks ass! There's lots of irony and a protagonist who, while being a serial killer, still maintains a sense of decency in an incredibly insane world. "Dexter" ranks up there with Six Feet Under and The Sopranos. Peace, Jeff
  14. Howdy, I just returned from Manhattan and checking the 14th Street Virgin Megastore on the off chance the clerk I spoke to was wrong, with the help of one who was on the floor I found *six* copies of the deluxe CD set and one of the 13 track. Needless to say, despite having to pay the full price of $24.99 I picked up a copy. Listening to it now (it's up to "Nobody Knows") it was definitely worth the trip. Peace, Jeff
  15. Howdy, After four days of store visits, phone calls and web searches I discovered none of the NYC Bestbuy or Virgin Megastore locations have either release, and the local FYE would only special order it. This is NEW YORK CITY!!! How could none of these stores have this disc? Peace, Jeff PS Figuring it would be a wait in any case I ordered the deluxe edition through deepdiscount.com ...
  16. Happy Birthday Eric ... can we expect any more live Raspberries in the near future ;-) ? Peace, Jeff
  17. Hey Bernie, What can I say ... this book is freakin' amazing! My copy arrived yesterday, I read the intro but had to stop so I can savor the rest later when I have the time ... I was at the second BB Kings show and blown away at the Atlantic City one and needless to say your book will be a constant reminder of what great gigs both were. Many thanks for this; you and Ken did a kick ass job all around! Peace, Jeff P.S. Any chance of a second edition with a possible collectors pack? The stickers are primo!
  18. Howdy, Having attended my first and second Raspberries gigs in New York City and Atlantic City this past July 24th and September 17 I was both surprised and honored to have met Wally both times after these gigs. Despite the fact that I could not shell out the $150 meet and greet ticket prices for these gigs (and I *do* regret missing the Atlantic City one; from what I've heard it was well worth it) Wally came out after both shows, autographed LPs, posters etc. that were handed to him, spoke with and shook hands with those of us who approached him. These experiences, along with two phenomenal performances cemented, for me, (after a long time of debate with fellow Raspberries fans out here in NYC) Wally's status as the coolest, and most accessable of the Raspberries. There's no elitism here baby! Wally, you are great! Peace, Jeff
