  1. I'll take Slowhand himself, Eric Clapton. And Santana too.
  2. Hi Beep- and anyone else who gets the chance! You must go see Aerosmith! They are the most awesome rock concert band. I went to their New Year's Eve concerts in Boston more times than I can count. I met Steven Tyler one time (he's actually quite small) and he was very cool and friendly. "Dream On" is one of my most favorite songs! They got their start in New England so we feel very possessive of them here. Most of the guys live in Massachusetts still. Let me know if you go and what you think...
  3. I believe "Let The River Run" was sung by Carly Simon for the movie "Working Girl". (Harrison Ford, Melanie Griffith, Sigourney Weaver) The movie was excellent but the song was less than amazing. I did not remember that it won the Oscar.
  4. I caught the "Today Show" this morning too. "All By Myself" played in the backround of a Jay Leno skit with him, alone and lonely, in a hotel room. He was studying the mounds of Today Show research materials he had to read in preparation for his day of trading jobs with Katie Couric today. It was actually quite adorable...
  5. Oh my God! These 2 sites are fun-but who came up with these combinations of people. I am supposedly most compatible with Ray Romano, Vin Diesel, John Elway, Nicolas Cage and Vinnie Jones (who is that???). No musicians amongst them. One bonus-it says my physical score with my husband is 100% WOW!!!
  6. Hope you had an awesome birthday Matt!!! We should have a birthday list for all of us... By the way, my maiden name is Brown and my Mom would love to think she has a "lovely daughter"...
  7. I was never a Bon Jovi (hair band) fan in the 80s or 90s, but admit I am enjoying their resurgence now. "It's My Life" is an awesome anthem song that I now listen to almost daily.
  8. OH My God Julia! I have tears in my eyes. What an awesome story! I am so happy you had such a great experience of a lifetime. It just proves what a wonderful human being Eric is and that our feelings about him and his music are so well placed. Thank you for sharing your experience.
  9. To this day I believe that "Seasons In The Sun" is the greatest "One Hit Wonder" in history. I couldn't believe that it was 30 something on the VH1's 100 greatest one hit wonder list. The "Macarena" was number one...yuck!

    My absence

JuliaD! I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time. Try to take care of yourself too...good music, good food (maybe some of those raspberry creams are in order) and as much rest as you can get...I know your Mom is in great hands with you in charge....
  11. Kate Hudson of "Almost famous" is the daughter of Bill Hudson and Goldie Hawn.
  12. Was the 80s band "Glass Tiger" Canadian? I loved their pop hit "Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone"....I figured they were Canadian because I heard that song when I was dating a guy from Toronto and it took months before I heard it in the US...
  13. I am thinking Charlie too, I cannot see Trista as a Colorado Fire Dept Mama...I'd take Ryan over Charlie myself... I'd rather see a milk mustache on Trista over that doofus Joe Millionaire though...
  14. Hey Billy-I would have loved to have known you back then too. I would have called you first to let you know Eric was on t.v. and share the moments! Yes, Darlene, these have been the best 25 years...somehow this musical anniversary has been a reflective one for me. I always knew how special Eric's music was for me but 25 years means it has been really significant in my life. Maybe that sounds corny but it's true. I think you should did out that memory box once a year and really enjoy... Hey Tony-the idea of you singing "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again" with spinach in your teeth is hilarious. Bad visualization there...
  15. On February 10th, 1978, in the middle of the infamous "Blizzard of '78" in Concord, Mass...I first saw Eric Carmen perform. I was 16 years old. It was a week of snow days and my Mom let me watch afternoon TV. We kids were probably driving her batty... Eric was on the Merv Griffin Show and he sang "All By Myself" and "She Did It" as the new album "Boats Against The Current" was being released. He was amazing and gorgeous and so began my love affair... This was such an important date for me that I documented it in my High School Yearbook..."EHC 2/10/78 All By Myself..." at the very end of my notes section. On top of that, just a few days later my love for Eric was further cemented when I went to France on a school exchange trip. On the plane, "Never Gonna Fall In Love Again" was in the song rotation on one of the headphone music stations. I made sure to time it so I could listen to the song every time it came on-both to and from Paris. It was a great trip as I shared the plane seats with my crush of the day..a boy named Joe and he teased me unmercifully about my new addiction (and a lot of other things). Joe lasted about 18 months but Eric has lasted 25 years... Anyway, thanks for letting me share my anniversary with all of you...thanks mostly to Eric for bring me much joy and happiness through his music...and thanks to my EricCarmen.com friends for letting me cherish him every day...
