nice job EC...
yarborough seems like the type that criticise w/o research.... he probably has never listened to a razz or ec cd all the way through... it was popular to bash so he does....
don't sweat it eric, he does'nt get it and never will. you guys are opening eyes (and ears) 30 years after the fact and that speaks volumes about your talents...
are people going to be looking for his columns 30 years on???......i think not..
i was at the chicago show,it was the most incredible performance i have ever seen...
-
baby sister & anniekny, i completely agree with you, and for the most part, that is how this web site has been over the years.
so why are we editing and attacking (telling him his opinions are'nt welcome here, he should post elsewhere) Lew'(bundles) posts, just because he is not a fan of "the boss"?????
i read his post, there have been 100's over the years worse than that!
yes i know bernie, wrong thread, (i promise to start a community bruce thread over the weekend)!
-
good luck tim!
you've got more nerve than i do.....
if the crowd starts to turn ugly and you feel them closing in, just bite the head off of some small fury animal and i'm sure you will be back in their good graces.....???????????
-
..."bruce beats about anyone in concert".......
really marvin, you're starting to sound like a ten year old who got his favorite ballplayers autograph....
NOT IF YOU DONT LIKE THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!
and i would almost bet that from the years of posts that i have read on this board that we may have more non fans than fans....
-
BIG 70%!!!!!
-
springsteen freak aside...
imho a berries' live cut is totally in order and bernie told me himself (in the chatroom one evening) he has a killer version of the boys doing badfingers "no matter what"...c'mon popdude/tony, thats got to sound like pop heaven to ya!
-
was a big ELO fan when they were popular.
"sweet talkin'woman" is another great song.
another group with incredible harmonies.
-
if minimalism is your "thang" check out warren zevons "learning to flinch"....
-
...the sound you are hearing in the distance is a boat (no, not against the current!)...
...and capitol has missed it again.....
thats twice ...
in 2 different centuries!!!
-
james, i agree completely. imo eric has always included a beach boys "romp" song (for lack of a better word) on all his cd's....maybe just to utilize his brilliant ability to harmonize.
on wd however, which is more mature themed than most of ec's cd's "top down" seems out of place.
-
james, not surprisingly, "hungry heart" is my favorite bruce song.
imho...."the rising" was weak and forced...as was paul mcartneys "freedom"... if we ever needed john lennon it was during 9/11...
as far as politics and music...much like politics and religion imho

craig,
my 15 yr old has the maroon 5 cd and there is'nt a bad tune on it. very impressive cd from a current group....finally, lyrics i can understand!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
dar,
all of the members with the exception of jim have continued to write....
it has'nt been 60 days..its been 30 years!
and i hardly think eric feels "pressure" from a an off the cuff request from a website.....
YEESH!!!!!!!!!
-
i think carmen is saying that there may be a market for ec solo that was'nt there before because of the bands that she mentions having success currently.
-
50,400 !! bernie, i'll take 40,000 in cash and the balance in new ec/raspberry merchandise.
the new DVD, the new CD, concert tickets.
-
............and the second tiime i won!!!!!!
thats 6 WD"S..........look out marv...i'm sendin' you a six pack!!!!!!
-
good job bernie...
would'nt ya know the first time i won i had 3 "winter dreams"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
i think marvin and trindy need to relax. sir paul is still a performer in the public eye and as such is fodder for people like letterman (who has passed on very few subjects over the years).
imo (i have paul cd's, beatle cd's and am a huge fan), the half time show was ho-hum....
i'd seen it all before.
i think they should go back to 2 or 3 artists during that 12 minutes or so.
-
trindy, quit being such a stickler
:p
-
i'm with gene and annie...SOLO
and since we know that ec is reading...
NEW MUSIC PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
-
great article! even better news! c'mon ec,i'm sure you can make that video out of the three shows you have already... lets not get all "perfectionist" on us again! WALLY, JIM, DAVE HELP!
-
nice post mac! one of my favorite moments from that first solo cd is eric screaming "let me out" on no hard feelings. withe the guitar riff from "go all the way" underneath his voice.
you can feel his frustration and anger with the sad state of affairs that the 'berries had become.
-
what happened to fastball? i thought they showed alot of promisse in the pop area.

dog: bambi
street:grant
BAMBI GRANT!!!!!!!!!
i'm feeling sexy!!!!!!!
"It Hurts Too Much"
in That's Rock 'N' Roll

i can still remember putting that album on the turntable for the first time...it was different for an ec solo tune.... but when he started with those lyrics and that venom in his voice, i was "hooked" forever.... "spectorish" exactly popdude.....
