  1. So happy for you Darlene! We're not ready to give you up just yet though--even if you would go "happy". Lol!
  2. Lol, Muzza! Kathy Lee--Leslie's stability ball DVD is titled, "You CAN Do! ABS--a simplified approach. From the back cover: This video has three progressive practice segments, each one designed to take you a step closer to greater results: Using Your Stability Ball, The Core Workout and The Upper-Body Workout. Looks like it's a total of 1 hour and 33 minutes. I haven't done this one in a long time. I deflated my ball when I got married and moved and don't know what I did with the pump. Lol! I also have a Denise Austin ball routine that I used to do that wasn't too bad. I just really didn't have a lot of room back then and kept falling off the ball! Lol! Never heard of a Bosu ball. --Julie
  3. Congrats!! Enjoy!! Spoil!!!! It's your duty!!! Blessings, Julie
  4. Julesberry--it's much more than marching in front of your tv. But, it doesn't take a lot of space. If you don't have a lot of room, you can just stand there and "march". Leslie Sansone, the Walk Away the Pounds" lady, has 4 basic moves. There is the walking in place, the kick, the knee lift and the side step. Google her name, and you'll get to her site and she has some clips of her routines you can watch. I'm totally addicted to Walk Away. I have 13 DVD's and 1 VHS tape of hers. She has 1 mile, 2, 3, 4 and 5 mile workouts. I pretty much stick to the 1 and 2. I never get bored with them. You can also use hand weights, a stretchie band, her ab belt and other things. If you're serious about getting one, I would recommend my favorite--the Express 2-in-1 DVD which has a 1 mile Easy Walk and a 2 mile "Brisk Walk". Barnes and Noble have a fair amount of her tapes. She also has workouts for older adults, kids, and some floor routines--like the ball. Get thee to her website and snoop around in her "store". --Julie
  5. You can have the tomatoes, Jersey, but for sweet corn???! Iowa!!! By-the-way, we'll be growing baby peas and sweet corn for Green Giant this growing season! I'm kind of excited! Most farmers in our area, grow corn and soybeans for ethanol and for stockfeed. Julie
  6. Wow Kathy Lee--that's some loss for the week! The iodine supplement sounds interesting! Good idea to icrease your water. That's something I always resist because of the increasing in the um...well...um, you know! But, it is so good for you. Cool on tearing that bathroom apart! You're on your way now! I got some new workout DVD's while shopping in Mankato, MN yesterday. Just got done doing one. I do Leslie Sansone's "Walk Away the Pounds" workouts. I love them. Have heard people claim that they aren't a tough enough workout, but I beg to differ. You can make things more intense and you can do her longer programs. Anyway, to stick with it, I have to find something I can stand to do over and over. Hers are good enough to keep me interested. Have a good one! Julie
  7. um, Muz?? Your Kiwi has some might strange combos there. Is she trying to tell us that she's preggers? Julie Lol!
  8. good old peanut butter does it for me! But, when I'm trying to be good, I just put tuna between 2 slices of wheat bread. Nothing else. Just the tuna and the bread. Yummy!
  9. That sounds cool! Or, how about a little waterfall?! Lol! I have a 2.6 pound weightloss to report for the week! I am now down 21.6 pounds. (not sure what the measurements are in NZ--sheeps legs? chocolate fish? metric?) I've been walking more outside because our weather has improved. I've been picking up a lot of sticks and small branches. It's going to rain for a few days now though, so maybe Darling Hubby will have some ideas for indoor exercise! Blessings, Julie
  10. Ouch! Never had them, but know lots of people that have! Take care and hope you're on the mend and feeling better fast! Blessings, Julie
  11. Well, my travels would be to do genealogy as I would love to walk where my ancestors did, so I'd like to go to: Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario Ireland--flew over it and it looked gorgeous! Germany Scotland
  12. I was always a big EC fan and used to drive the sweet little librarian nuts doing inter-library searches for magazine articles about Eric! Lol! I had a computer for a whole year before I was able to have internet (think rural Iowa--everything was dial-up and horrendous long-distance fees!). The day I got my internet connection, I "googled" Eric Carmen and was taken to the old board where I probably just lurked for one or two days until I learned how to post! Tony was "TonySongWriter" seems like, and some other folks had different names than they do now. I was simply my email address! Anyway, I'm member #20 here.
  13. Thanks guys! I've been in Weight Watchers since September this time around. Last week I was totally out of control on the salt. It's funny, cause, I usually crave sweets. Go figure! I had been losing 1 to 2 pounds every week. Then, we got snow bound in the great Iowa Blizzard and I just went nuts! Lol! I've been eating weird this week, but it really works--1 packet of Quaker weight control oatmeal for breakfast and 1 Weight Watcher yogurt for a mid-morning snack. Lunch has been 1 1/4 cups of Fiber One cereal with honey clusters, 2/3 cup skim milk, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce. In the afternoon I have a little cup of yogurt then for supper a couple of baked potatoes with veggie slice cheese and taco sauce on them! Weird! But, I love it! I won't do this every day, but it's a good way to get me motivated and lose fast while not starving. Gotta eat more fruits and veggies I know. --Julie
  14. Awwww....so sweet! Glad things are going so well and glad that you got to have that experience at the Relay for Life. Wanted to share my success for the week--after a dismal week last week--(I had GAINED 6.8 pounds!!--good grief!!)Anyway, I LOST 9.2 this week! My Weight Watcher leader said she'd never had anyone lose that much in a week! A huge portion of it was water, so I'm being more careful with the salt! Anyway, take care and keep up the good fight! --Julie
  15. I LOVE "What Not to Wear"! I'm not much of a TV watcher

    Happy "Purim"

Have a great time, Ira. Happy Purim to all who celebrate! --Julie
  17. Welcome to the boards! Have a great time!
  18. On a side note (which these threads seem to do!) Alan Thicke's ex-wife, Gloria Loring, sang the theme song to "The Facts of Life" sitcom.
  19. I love Louise! She's a big fan of Eric's and has done recorded a couple of his other songs on her albums. She does "Maybe My Baby" and another--which escapes me at this moment. And ya, I have had this recording as a promo copy for years. It does make you happy! And as for "Hee Haw"? This Iowa farm girl gets it and LOVES it! Lol! "where, where, are you tonight? Why did you go and leave me all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love....but you found another and ***raspberry*** you were gone!"
  20. That was great, Bernie! And, may I add that Eric's hair was much prettier than the blonde's!
  21. Glad to have you here, Braves Fan! Take your shoes off, come on in, and find a nice spot on the couch and relax for a spell! --Julie
  22. Beautiful work, Gord! You really have a gift! Thanks for sharing! --Julie

  24. Sometimes I think it would have been nice to be a mom.
