Up On The Roof

Recommended Posts

This week we've got a simple snapshot taken by a Japanese fan on a Tokyo rooftop during Eric's visit to that country in 1979. Enjoy!

"When I come home feelin' tired and beat

I go up where the air is fresh and sweet

Up on the roof

I get away from the hustling crowd

And all that rat race noise down in the street

Up on the roof

On the roof, the only place I know

Where you just have to wish to make it so

Let's go up on the roof

Up on the roof"

laugh

In this shot Eric reminds me of "Starsky" in the original 1970's TV show(Paul Michael Glaser...a very cool dude).Maybe the shades and leather jacket?

SOOO SWEET!!!

“Up on the Roof…â€

and now…

“You TOOK my breath away!

I want it back again (…)

I don't know what to say

I don't know how to feel(…)

You knocked my headlights out

So turn them on again

I can't see where I'm going

I can't tell where I've been

I don't know how to feel

This hasn't been my day

Seems like I've lost a wheel

You took my breath away

You took my breath away…â€

Thank you Bernie!!

Andrea smile

As I've said before, I was completely taken aback by the kindness, courtesy, and intelligence of the people of Japan when I first performed there in 1977. I have had wonderful experiences there (other than the time I jumped into the orchestra pit in Osaka, and found it had been lowered from it's original depth of four feet, to ten or eleven). I love the food, the culture, and the people. Tokyo is one of my favorite cities in the world.

I think all girls are delightful. Japanese girls included.

Always the gentleman, Eric. Lovely response. happy

Isn't it great when we see ourselves in our children? We remember the moment and kind of know what they were thinking and feeling. LuvLove Those moments stay in our memories forever.

Bernie,

This picture made me laugh. I have a photograph of Clayton with the exact same smile on his face.

Sometimes it's remarkable... when we see our younger selves in a child... or grandchild... or suddenly realize we are doing something a way that a parent might have done it unconsciously... almost like they're watching over us still... laugh

Great pic as always... maybe for April 1... or Halloween... we can see some "rejects"... wink

This was a great find. Thank you to whoever found this thread. It would be neat to see a pic of Clayton.

Well, it doesn't hurt to look! Even on April Fool's Day, 2017.
