John-O - I went to the site and read the article, but also read what was supposed to have been coverage of everything relative to the event. As for E and our Raspberries the thinking was that their performance was part of a "private" party and should be kept under wraps. Or maybe, the party was actually a "secret" party. Or better yet, E and our Raspberries were so spectacular and have not yet been inducted Jann didn't want to face serious embarassment. Okay, John-O, there is no reason not to have included our group in the articles.

Well, if it was a "private" or "secret" party, RS is doing its very best to keep it that way! They've had no problems whatsoever in the past reporting on private or semi-private SXSW-related shows that knocked them out.

Seeing as that rag was actually one of the only ones in '74 to recognize the greatness of "Starting Over", you'd think they'd have no problem shilling just a bit for one of their old faves, no? So far, they wrote them up back in late '04 regarding the initial comeback shows, and David Fricke was allowed to mention the live album in a Nov. 07 issue....which they didn't review, though, even though Dave was at one of the NYC Highline shows, and loved it!

Rolling Stone sucks....period.

Gee, Steve. Rolling Stones has turned into People...well...hmmmm...Rolling Stone has the journalistic guts that People will never have. Steve, whatever happened to "Cream"?

Fully agree with the last 2 posts....and I'm still wondering why anyone thought that writing to Rolling Stone about the 'Berries and their recent live show would change anything (??!!?)

Rolling Stone is not even a "music" publication anymore. They're more of a lifestyle magazine.

WORD! Captain Kirk...I mean Harlock.

Rolling Stone is a joke. Hard to believe it used to be a counter culture mag that had serious political content also. Its a puppet for the likes of Brittany Spears, Mylie Cyrus, and Lindsay Lohan.

Its a pile of rubbish and Popular Science has more information in it about music than that magazine. They pander to rap and vacant teenage crap. Some of their writers shouldnt be writing for TV Guide.

Such a GREAT post!!! LOVE it!!!

This is so true indeed; Rolling Stone used to be great many years ago, but not anymore.

BTW, in the latest hard copy of RS (Dylan on the cover), there's a mini-article on Eric's incarceration, which mentions that he got 180 days, with no mention of the fact that he's expected to serve just 30 days of the sentence. This latter info is readily available on the on-line version of the mag. WTF gives???

Oh great, a mention of that (and got it wrong), but no mention at all of the Raspberries performance. It figures.

RS sucks indeed.

I mentioned that Will Lee raved about the Raspberries...Roseanne Cash's husband John Leventhal [Who I spoke to for about twenty minutes and was very impressed with his rock and roll smarts] said he loves The Raspberries. He evidently has a hell of a resume...so I've been told.
