Your Most Prized Raspberries Possession

Recommended Posts

Special would be photos with Eric that I have.

As far as collectibles, I have a lot of stuff, but couple things I haven't seen anywhere that I have.. is a red satin softball jacket with Arista logo on the front and Change of Heart/Eric Carmen on the back, and an lp of All By Myself where Eric has a voice over during the extended piano break thanks everyone that worked on the record.

Best moment? Before the recent success, and when Eric was still in the witness protection program and he did his first solo performance at the HOF.. he recognized me for backing him up on the aol wars before Bernies website was up. Cool.

I'm curious what's ERIC'S most prized possession?

I always meant to post on this thread, so it gets a [bump]....

10] Raspberries 1973 press kit (recently picked up at a "paper collectibles" show for almost free).

9] Boats Against the Current promotional poster, 16 x 20 inches.

8] Signed lithograph of Raspberries' first album cover, bought at RaspberriesOnline.com.

7] Photo of Eric and me taken before a Dirty Dancing show back in 1988.

6] Audio tape of interview with Eric done in 1985.* [*IF I can find it!!!]

5] Collection of original Raspberries and EC vinyl LPs, "wear rings" and all.

4] Live at Sunset Strip booklet signed by all four Raspberries in NYC, Oct. 13, 2007. I had bought the retail version the day it came out, and then got it signed at the Highline Meet & Greet.

3] Copy of Bernie's and Ken's Marathon Man book signed by Eric at WAB in 2007. I'll include my collection of WAB photos with this one -- especially the shot of my daughters with Eric.

2] Live at Sunset Strip deluxe package, because it was such a long-awaited release. What a great package, between the DVDs, music, photos, and autographs.

1] Photos of my wife and me with the 'berries at the Highline Meet & Greet, along with ticket stubs to the show.

Not too shabby, but... I know I'm overlooking something around here. And none of these things is particularly valuable in terms of $$, but... as they say, they're priceless to me.

All the original LP's. And a few vintage articles from rock magazines that I saved.

For current items, I'd have to say the Japanese mini albums.

How did you guys get the guitar strings???? Do they put random cool stuff in those packages?

Time to rob a bank!!! LOL Or win the lottery...lol :P:lol:

I'm a bit out of touch due to a bad bout with CFS...and so I haven't been teaching until I get out of this and go back into remission, so I can't buy all that I want, which is REALLY frustrating! But I'll catch up......!!

Cool about the guitar strings....especially for a diehard fan and guitarist! I'm like a kid in a candy store here! smile

I can't believe that I didn't respond to this one earlier.

I would have to start with my gold record of GATW. Most of you have seen the pic with me proudly showing it off. I was kind of surprised to be the high bidder on that one. It's on the wall in between my signed album covers of 'Raspberries', and 'Fresh'.

At my first Raspberries show (Chicago Jan '05), I was in for the treat of a lifetime. I was in front of Wally at the stage. This was too unreal- I was wearing the same dress shirt as Jim Bonfanti that night. I guess that is about a one-in-a-million shot.I bought it just for that show, because it has raspberry colored inner sleeves, and collar. After the show, Goose approached me and said that Jim had something for me. He hands me a signed drum head, and Jim wrote 'nice shirt' on it. HA! TOO MUCH! It's in the background in the pic of me with the gold record. Also in that shot, you can see a pair of sticks. They are from what I consider the greatest Raspberries show ever- the Sunday night show at BB Kings, July '05.

I have some set lists from the shows too. The set lists from Chicago were laminated, so after the show I had the guys sign them for me. It is an awesome piece.

I have everything that relates to any of the shows I attended. Pictures, ticket stubs and picks that Dave tossed to me during the shows. I could have had Eric's gum, but I decided to not pick it up!

I also have a TON of great memories from those shows that I will always treasure. Hanging with all the new friends I made on those trips just put the topping on the cake.

In no particular order:

All the great books by Bernie and Ken, the special edition CD/DVD, the signed lithograph of the first album (still waiting for the next three!), and a guitar pick handed to me by Wally Bryson at the first meet and greet, which goes along nicely with the pick Eric tossed to me in the front row while he was playing with Ringo in Chicago.

Everyone who bought a "Limited Edition" copy of Raspberries: TONIGHT! received an actual guitar string played by one of the Raspberries on their recent reunion tour among other rare goodies!

The sets, which sold out immediately, are quite RARE! Here's a photo of the deluxe set for you to drool over:

My favorite item is an 8 X 10 glossy photo of Eric at the piano from 1973-74 that Gene Taylor took and gave me at the first show in Cleveland. Eric signed it - ahhhhhh...

My favorite intangible: all the hugs and kisses from our boys!!!!

I have picks, earrings, but i also love the fun items that fans made and gave out to other fans like buttons (dianed! is one) Scent Lady's Raspberry scented homemade items, the guitar pin withe the raspberries logo - was that Julie?? who made those? - just the coolest thoughtful stuff.

Ditto what Valorie shared....plus having Gene honor us with his photographic genius and take pictures of us with the guys! Al being so wonderful to arrange everything perfectly including our 'updated seats to 'family section'...one of my many items that I now adore is my several Raspberry Rolls Barris Models I now have along with acquiring the 'original ad' for the contest to win the real deal from the guys!

That picture made me laugh. I remember sitting at the rehersal hall marking all thise strings as Ernie took them off of the guitars! My prized possesions would have to be my laminates, tour books,a signed picture of Dave with the blue bass, and while they are not mine, Erics guitars that I am storing until further notice!
