I have been looking for Choir video for decades...I think the only place it may exist is in the Spero archive of Upbeat.Don Webster himself told me they have tons of footage. What are they waiting for? All of us to die first?

Well who knows that man - someone GET ON IT NOW!!! I live in Florida - I never saw Upbeat....We need clout - someone get one of the band or Bernie to throw their weight around lol. Why haven't they done a dvd remaster of their old shows like all the other teen shows back then? I'd email the guy - do we have a website or something we can ask that question and then everyone flood his mailbox?

Eric Robertson and Wally wrote a song (I think) called Our Love that the Sittn Ducks did on a cassette I have some where. GREAT song. Could use a little updating and a sax solo but a GREAT song.

David Spero was or is the manager of Joe Walsh...his dad Herman produced Upbeat...one of the greatest 60 music shows.I hear David has control of the archival upbeat footage...I think it could be a goldmine but the people who would buy it want to buy it now.

I wish that they would. According to that big book by Marshall Crenshaw, there is footage of the original Velvet Underground playing on "Upbeat."

Excellent video and performance! - but, ya gotta love whoever labelled this the "Bruce Detroit Medley"! Even Mitch Ryder live has given props to the originals - Shorty Long's "Devil With the Blue Dress", Little Richard's "Jenny Jenny" and "Good Golly Miss Molly", and "See See Rider", an old blues song that's been recorded probably hundreds of times (original allegedly done by Ma Rainey in the 20s)...

On those two particular medleys - agreed.

I'll still take Little Richard's "Jenny Jenny" and "Good Golly Miss Molly" (neither of which Mitch does in its entirety) over Ryder's truncated versions....but whoever had the idea of combining those particular songs into medleys (Mitch? Crewe? Somebody else?) - that was genius!

To me, calling the Detroit medley "Bruce's" is kinda like referring to "David Johansen's Animals medley"....he used to do a medley of "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place", "It's My Life", and "Don't Bring Me Down" live as a solo act.
