AP TALLY: OBAMA HAS ENOUGH DELEGATES

Recommended Posts

According to a report just out, the AP has tallied the delegates for each candidate and claims that Barak Obama has more than he needs to clinch the Democratic Party nomination.

This is not shocking news... in fact, it was reported today that Bill Clinton remarked at a campaign stop last night that it might be the last campaign stop he ever makes... and word is today Hillary has told friends in the Senate that she would not be against being on the ticket as the Vice Presidential candidate...

Now... I'm gonna start my campaign here... and now...

Over the course of the last few decades we have allowed the congress... the senate... basically the two Parties/Powers steal from us our right to choose the people we think can do the best job. The media has been a part of this by shoving the propaganda of Left/Right and Republican/Democrat this, that, or the other down our throats. We have allowed the greatest nation in the world to slip almost over the edge of a precipice from which there would be no way back.

We have allowed the parties to blur to the point that the Republican candidate is more concerned with appeasing Democrat voters than his own party. And the Democrat candidates calling for change are blowing up our skirts...they don't want change, they want a continuation of their stranglehold on America.

We are told that if we do not vote for either of the two "scarily similar" candidates then we are wasting our vote. I say that is a lie. They say that if we do not vote, we have no right to complain. Well, I have voted in every God-forsaken nation election since I was old enough to... and in most of the local ones too.. and by God I'm sick of being told that if I don't toe the "party" line I'm somehow un-American.

Before the country as we know it is gone... along with the rights and freedoms we hold so dear... I propose that any who are not 100% convinced that Obama or McCain are the best choices for the job... do not vote for them... Even if you don't agree with the Libertarian or the Green party, we need to strengthen a third option, if for no other reason than to show the "big two" that we will not settle for the same crap every four years!

I know the government... those in power... will do all they can to hold that power in reserve for themselves. Hell, I'll probably be targeted for something because I dare post this "call to arms" if you will... Several years ago Ross Perot's "Reform Party" got a bit of a start... until, rumor has it, Perot "got the message" that if he continued down his path, his life would be substantially shortened... Then Jesse Ventura became the face of that party... became the governor of Minnesota (the highest office held by a member of a part that did not have an elephant or an ass for it's logo in several decades.) Fact is I'd have voted for him to run the nation back then if he would have continued on. He could have done no worse than we have had done these past years...

Now it's down to the dregs of the mainstream parties. If either party had had anyone more qualifies or better suited to head our nation, we'd have seen them by now. The "third parties" are unknows, but we need one of them to shore themselves up... to show enough spunk to inspire the mindless masses that believe the tripe that states we HAVE to vote for the "D" or the "R"... to pull the lever for a different letter instead...

I might be alone... hell, I've been alone before... I campaigned for Alan Keyes at one time, so I know lonely... was one of 7 who voted for him in my city but I slept well at night knowing I did what I believed... Got involved, posted the signs, joined the throng at the polling place... the lone voice crying in the wilderness...

So... who will I fall in behind this time? I have not decided yet... all I know is that come November, my vote will not go to an "R" or a "D"... I would never be able to live with myself when one of them led us over the edge... we're on the edge because of them... their greed and corruption and lack of leadership. More worried about keeping themselves in power than serving the nation... supporting leaders who line their own pockets at the expense of the people...

If our current leaders were in power in any third world or middle easter nation, we'd be talking about invading them to free them from the corruption... but here in America we just hold our noses and vote for four more years of the same... (2 and 6 more too... depending on the office...)

My solution? Vote for no incumbents. Vote for no party affiliation where a third choice is given. Take our country back... and then we can turn it over to those we deem worthy...

Or better still... take it back and reserve the right to run it for ourselves...

I liked Ron Paul. My son has "introduced" me to Chuck Baldwin (Constitution party) who I believe supported Paul.

I'm also sick of people voting for someone they don't support because they believe their vote will be wasted otherwise. Why not just not vote at all?

I dabbled with the CP for a bit... like some of what they have to say... but their organization is somewhat weaker it seems than the Libertarian group... though what any of them need is a charasmatic candidate... (and a catchy theme song... I'm thinking "American As Apple Pie"... wink )

glad to claim Ron Paul as one of our own! like Ralph Nader, he tells the truth, is exceptionally intelligent, & most importantly is not motivated by greed. ever read "Parliament of Whores" by PJ O'Rourke? good book, but you'll laugh & cry..

So when he wins in Nov. get ready for capital gains taxes to go from 15% to 28 or 35%. Both him and Hillary already said that. They think the only people drawing on a 401k are the wealthy , with over a million or more bucks. Get ready to reinstate the inheritance tax, and discontinue the Bush tax cuts, set to expire in 2010. I'm not a Bush fan, but when it comes to taxes-just wait till Obama and the guys take over! We can debate Bush's spending policies another time. So much for being a fiscal conservative.

Nader has the name recognition I think, most people know they know the name... but I'm not sure any longer it's associated with the type of positives it used to be... now it's just another guy who runs for president... even the little news on him starts out with "Perennial Presidential Candidate..." making it sound as if that's all he does or is...

You're right Randy... with a congress chomping at the bit to tax, tax, tax and a president willing and ready to sign off on it, the rich might not stay as rich, but the middle class will pretty much go extinct... Somewhere there is a line... where there will be either the upper class... and those who they are taxed to support... frown

I just found this.."The road to hope/change/COMMUNISM!

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income

Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying. Read below...............

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this.

Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas , it i s true - all to help the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!

This woman is frightening.

She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' ( I am not rich, are you)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied:

'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.' (Read that quote again and again and let it sink in. 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'.

Danny S. (Curly) you are correct on all counts. Why do illegals take the jobs that nobody wants? Because our poor don't have to work. We support them. What would happen if welfare only went to the deserving needing help and not the lazy? Oh my gosh.......somebody might have to get a job. As long as one can make more on welfare and sit home, why should they find a job at wal-Mart ? (other than dignity-which doesn't make the house payment last time I checked)

IMO the only people who should be able to get assistance are the ones who can't (not won't) work and those who are working, but can't make ends meet. And there should be an eventual cut off for the ones working. I would like to see some of that money going toward health insurance for children. Automatic free health insurance until the age of 21.

These mothers who are so proud of the fact that all they have to do to get more money is have another baby should be cut off after 2 kids. I'm budgeting like crazy to make sure my kids are taken care of and they should have to do the same.

The fact that illegals are getting assistance while I'm out here working to pay for it really gets to me. One of my friends works at Wal Mart-barely getting by-and she checks these people out at the register. She says they whip out their little card and we pay for $200 worth of groceries for them and they still have as much as $1100 left for the month. One month!! I run to the store with $100 and hope it's enough for the week! And now Pelosi feels we owe them more! OMG!! Working hard to control my language!!

Nancy Pelosi--"nut case" is an understatement.

If you want to see how illegals are milking the system, go sit in emergency at the hospital. They use it for primary care and we, the insured, wait in line behind them! I know. Been there done that a few months ago. The nurse told me that 75% out there do not have insurance and never pay their bill. So guess who does it for them? "We are the world...we are the children."

Ron Paul is expected to get 40% of the vote at the Washington Republican Primary. (Kind of tells you that not everyone in the party is thrilled with McCain.)

Nader has now become the "Gus Hall" of this point in time. Hall ran on the Communist ticket for many years in the US. And wasn't there another perennial candidate in the past, too??

Pat Paulson... and he'd have done a better job than most... Hell, I remember one year there was a "Howard the Duck" campaign, and I'd rather vote for him than Obama or McCain...

I've looked into Ron Paul some and he would fit the bill of "fiscal conservative" no doubt, but I fear he'd not stand up for our personal liberties.

You'd think with all the "blurring of the lines" between the parties, you'd get one candidate who was fiscally consrvative but liberal in other areas... Find me that man or woman and I will support them whole-heartedly and work tirelessly on their behalf to get them elected... laugh

Yes, and they waltz right into the school system, too. When I register my kids I have to have social security numbers, birth certificates and shot records. They just show up with their parents and are greeted by an interpreter-I've seen it happen. And our school board feels it's their right, illegal or not, and our duty to educate them. My son's middle school received an F this year because all test scores are averaged together and that includes the non-English speaking students taking the tests in English. If they're not going to learn English then they should be tested separately.

Randy--the same thing is going on in the hospitals and clinics here. At least one of the clinics has set aside certain days for Spanish speaking patients only. I guess the insured American patients aren't allowed to be sick on those days.
