  1. I was doing my morning exercise last week,(which I do to music for motivation)and I usually listen to 98.5 or 104.9 here in Cleveland, but nothing I liked was on, so I tuned in 106.5 and thought I heard your voice discussing a new cd release slated for this February.Glad to hear you're doing well and back recording.I haven't been on the board for a while, busy with our new grand daughter and our other son's wedding plans.

  5. Oh! Darling

Eric, I know you've noted the similarities between yours and Macca's voices, but I was putting together some Ikea furniture listening to Abbey Road, and Oh! Darling came on. Now, I've heard this song a million times, but from the first Oh! on this listen, it just screamed "ERIC CARMEN". I think more than any other Beatles song. Did you ever belt this one out for a show?

  11. Hi Eric - thank you for coming home last night!! Yep, I was not here but heard about it. As usual, your posts are insightful and informative. I have read one of the books you have written about and found it (The Greatest Story Ever Sold)to be worth while. Since the article you posted mentioned another book, I will read that book too. Will you come back again, soon? Are you shy? Some say you are..(when i want to know something I go to the source.) Also, I thank you not just for myself but for all of the ladies on the board!!

  14. "Lite"-Trite FM

Not being a musician...I may not describe this phenomenon accurately...But on the few occasions I attempt to listen to Adult Contemporary Radio in 2008...(and I consider myself adult and contemporary)...I wanna puke as I hear this overblown Mariah Carey-ish American Idol-ish "Hero"-ish/Daniel Powter-ish/Celine Dionne-ish/ synthesized CRAP! I feel like Joni Mitchell...who I don't love...said it best when she wrote..."Don't it always seem to go...that you don't know what you got till it's gone". On the other hand...just today I was listening to Rhino's "The History of The British Invasion Volume 6...and on this one CD alone...I thrilled to "Sha-La-La-La-Lee" and "My Mind's Eye" by The Small Faces. "Baby Now That I've Found You" by the Foundations, "Concrete and Clay" by the Unit 4 + 2, "Here Comes My Baby" by the Tremeloes, and "Groovy Kind of Love" by the Mindbenders. Eric....What the Hell happened to good ol' Rock-Pop?-Ira.
  15. Eric's birth year...AMAZING!

It is simply amazing how many succesful rock and roll/musicians were born in 1949. I have a theory that I feel is absolutely no coincidence.. the answer is at the bottom of this post, but the clue is 2.9.64 These 1949 births reads like a Who's Who of Rock, much longer than I even suspected.. Eric Carmen Billy Joel Bruce Springsteen Rick Springfield Steve Perry Paul Rodgers Simon Kirke Gene Simmons Lindsey Buckingham Mark Knopfler John Oates Robert Palmer Lionel Ritchie Ric Ocasek Nick Lowe Eddie Money Robin/Maurice Gibb Roger Taylor 2/3 of ZZ Rick Wakeman David Foster What do they all have in common? My guess is that virtually everyone on this list, as impressionable and aspiring 14/15 year olds, were watching Ed Sullivan on February 9, 1964. Eric, do you concur with my analysis of this "coincidence"? Seattle Steve (this is only 1949, add a couple years to this range it gets scarier, the world will never again see that degree of musical influence by anyone, ever again.. imho)
  16. Any Upcoming Tour Plans?

Hello Eric: I was wondering if by any chance you'll be touring in the near future. As I posted in my intro to everyone, I'd LOVE to hear "Make Me Lose Control" live one day, if possible, as whenever they play the CD at work with that song on it I sing and dance to it and crack everyone up--LOL!
  17. Hi Eric - Where are you and what are you doing? I don't claim to know the answer to either, so I am asking you. You and I both know you have visited this board at least several times in the past few weeks. Yet, there are no posts from you. Is it that you don't have anything to say? Please don' feel pressured, but I would like to hear about what is going on with you (I speak only for myself). Yes, I saw your performance that is posted in the forum, but it tells me nothing about...what is going on with you. Take care...hope to hear from you at the campfire..soon.
