  1. 10 Habits of Happy Couples

I'm liking the "spend time apart" Bessieboo suggested. The more time apart, the better.
  2. Bram Tchaikovsky finally on CD !

Hey Hollies...go to DLByron.com and email D.L. directly. He may be able to hook you up.
  3. #1 Power Pop Album of All Time!

I agree whole-heartedly with the choice for #1. Starting Over has been one of my favorite albums since I first bought it back in 1974. The rest of the list is great as well, although I would have put Badfinger's Wish You Were Here in the top 5. It's funny how both Raspberries' and Badfinger's final albums were their most critically acclaimed.
  4. Your Favorite Lines in Raspberries/Eric Songs

My favorite is the first line from Starting Over. We've all felt that way at one time or another. Second fav is: "I know it's over, you know it's over, we're just going through the motions, we're just going thru the motions, but we're sailing separate oceans worlds apart..." Third fave: "I met her in a club down in old soho Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola..." Oops, wrong writer.
  5. 5 favorite Eagles songs....

I only liked one song by the Eagles - Already Gone. That's it. The rest are tied for least favorite.
  6. Reprint Marathon Man?

good idea...especially since I never got the first edition.
  7. Did you know ...(Music Trivia)?

...that Sonny Curtis, who wrote the greatest rock n roll song ever (IMO), "I Fought the Law", was a member of the Crickets (with Buddy Holly) just before Buddy's death. Sonny later wrote numerous nationally-known jingles for clients including McDonald's, Buick, Western Airlines, Mattel Toys, Honda, Olympia Beer, and Bell Telephone. During this time, he also wrote and sang the theme song for the Mary Tyler Moore Show, "Love Is All Around." Joan Jett did a killer version of that as well.
  8. Bar Days

It's funny you mention opening acts. There were many times I went to the show just to see the opening act. I once drove 3-1/2 hours to see Cheap Trick open for Foreigner. We left before Foreigner hit the stage. The same for the Babys twice...once they opened for Wet Willie in New Orleans, and the other time they opened for Journey. Skipped the headliners both nights. Eric opening for America? I would have been out the door before Eric unplugged his guitar.
  9. Did you know ...(Music Trivia)?

did you know that the song, "Dazed and Confused" made famous by Led Zeppelin, was actually written and first recorded by Jake Holmes. However he has never received any royalties or songwriting credit from Jimmy Page and crew. Page first heard the song when Holmes opened for the Yardbirds. He went out and bought Holmes' album the next day...and the rest is history. Apparently Led Zep lifted a lot of songs from from the old blues masters and failed to give writing credit.
  10. Did you know ...(Music Trivia)?

Did you know that Power Pop legend Tommy Keene was at the Raspberries show in Anaheim and said on his board that the show was "awesome."
  11. Did you know ...(Music Trivia)?

Did you know that Lizzy Borden was found not guilty?
  12. Concerts I Attended In 2007

One of my new years resolutions is to see more live music in 2008. The best of what I did see in 2007 (in no particular order) is: The Figgs @ the Parlor in Phila Fountains of Wayne @ the Troc in Phila Raspberries @ the Highline in NYC The A's - Electric Factory in Phila The rest were just okay.
  13. That record and the handful of Springsteen shows I saw during that tour changed how I listened to music - especially live music.
  14. 'Berries in '08?

Leaving to take my 10 year old daughter and her two friends to see Hannah Montana / Miley Cyrus in about 2 hours. Should be interesting.
  15. GoGos... or Bangles?

IMO, the Bangles never did anything that rocked like "Unforgiven" from God Bless the Go Go's.
  16. GoGos... or Bangles?

Go Gos. The Bangles were pop...the Go Go's rocked.
  17. Foghat & Blue Oyster Cult Jan. 31 Biloxi

Regarding Foghat, I think the drummer is the only remaining original member.
  18. Any Stones fans out there?

Love the Stones...up until Mick Taylor left. After that...well, there's a track here and there that I like, but IMO Some Girls sounds a lot like their last CD - and everything in between.
  19. Favorite Album Posters

I was a teenager when I bought the Queen album - Jazz. Inside was a poster of the nude bicycle race sponsored by Queen. So I was thrilled to open that album up to see a poster of a hundred or so topless women on bicycles. Far and away my favorite. I also liked the post cards that came with Exile on Main Street.
  20. What Songs Are Missing In Action?

I Can Hardly Believe You're Mine Cruisin' Music I Can Hardly Believe You're Mine
  21. "On the Beach"

OK...every angle of "On the Beach" has been covered. Let's now try to figure out why they haven't played "I Can Hardly Believe You're Mine." IMO, it stands up against any Raspberries song...and I mean any one. Great guitar work, no stupid or dated lyrics...just a classic. It's one of my top 10 favorite Raspberries songs, and really the only one they haven't done during the reunion that I wish they had.
  22. Worst Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class ever?

As usual, I'm agreeing with Hollies65. The thing is, Madonna is a much better choice than so many that are already in. Maybe the next thread should be the worst ten in the R&R HOF. I'd have a hard time keeping it at just 10.
  23. Worst Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class ever?

Mellencamp did have a string of pretty good CDs. I love "Scarecrow." DC5 yes...I'm too young for the Ventures. Madonna...nah. Where's Kiss, Alice Cooper, and the E Street Band?
  24. I'll answer one of those questions: 1. "Cry". I love Scott's voice, great lead guitar work, and Mike's drumming.
  25. What Would You Pick?

Oh, I forgot the best Christmas song ever recorded: The Little Stinkers version of "I Farted on Santa's Lap (Now Christmas is Going to Stink for Me)." A true classic. Still available on itunes.
