  8. Rock Hall Raspberries

Football is not baseball. It is ball. But, there is no Ball Hall of Fame. So, baseball players end up in the Baseball Hall of Fame and Football Players, well, you get the point. Since there is no Music Hall of Fame, let's help start a Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Rap Crap Hall of Fame, and a few others. We'll not allow Rock & Roll in those halls... and as a favor, the Rock Hall can keep Rap, Hip Hop, and that what ain't Rock & Roll, out of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Then, just maybe, they'll have room for Rock & Roll at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
  9. Great. Even if it is for his on enjoyment and no one else's, a life of music is in his hands and how wonderful that must be.

  11. Eric's New Album

My ex would get furious when I'd change lyrics around. Then I felt vindicated when I heard Eric singing "I know it sounds funky... but I'm not in it for the monkey" at a sound check. Maybe it's a guy thing.

  18. 'Berries in '08?

I keep checking back here thinking Eric will post, "Ok, here are the new show dates".
  19. 'Berries in '08?

I have a number of weddings in October and in August... but September is dry right now. I did book and August wedding today. So, it stands to reason I could have some brides wanting September dates. It's interesting. Some plan a year ahead and others pull it together in a month or two. It looks like I'll end up with 30-35 for the year. It doesn't leave too many weekends to shoot a certain band.
  20. 'Berries in '08?

Ok, I have most of September open. So, I propose each week needs a show. NY, Chicago, and Cleveland works for me. (Yeh, like it matters what's good for me, but let's pretend). If not a few shows this year, how about till we all hit the retirement home we all plan on this: Each New Years there needs to be a show in either Cleveland or Chicago. It'll pad the retirement account for the band and it'll make a lot of us happy. Please, guys, don't ever say "It's our last show". Always keep the door open.
  21. Frontline PBS - Bush's War Part 2

One scene from the second night will stick with me forever. A car drove by and shot a soldier. To me he looked dead before he hit the ground. He was in the same position laying on the ground that he was standing up. W should have to watch the video over and over. Everyone should see it. It makes you realize that was a person who just died... not just some number.
  22. Frontline PBS - Bush's War Part 2

In a memo President Bush sent on March 18, 2003, notifying Congress that he was launching the war against Iraq, he declared that he was acting "to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001." He also said "The reason I keep insisting that there was a relationship between Iraq and Saddam and al-Qaeda is because there was a relationship between Iraq and al-Qaeda." On November 1, 2002, at a Republican campaign rally in New Hampshire, Bush denounced Saddam: "We know he’s got ties with al-Qaeda. A nightmare scenario, of course, is that he becomes the arsenal for a terrorist network, where they could attack America, and he’d leave no fingerprints behind." A Christian Science Monitor analysis published on March 14, 2003, noted, "In his prime-time press conference last week, which focused almost solely on Iraq, President Bush mentioned Sept. 11 eight times. He referred to Saddam Hussein many more times than that, often in the same breath with Sept. 11. Bush never pinned blame for the attacks directly on the Iraqi president. Still, the overall effect was to reinforce an impression that persists among much of the American public: that the Iraqi dictator did play a direct role in the attacks.... The White House appears to be encouraging this false impression, as it seeks to maintain American support for a possible war against Iraq." 650,00 civilians dead: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/10/AR2006101001442.html UN says 34,000 civilians killed in 2006 alone http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=21241
  23. Frontline PBS - Bush's War Part 2

I'll be there only if the band doesn't have a show. You gots to have yer priorities.
  24. Frontline PBS - Bush's War Part 2

It annoyed me early on how W said if we didn't support the war we weren't supporting the troops. Heck, I'd risk my life for any US soldier in a heartbeat. W went after Sadam for supposedly having ties to the terrorists who hit the US. 3000 people died in that. Now we've lost 4000 soldiers. Then there was the issue of Sadam killing thousands of Kurds. Now we are responsible for killing between 150,000 and 650,000 civilians in Iraq (no one seems to keep a good count). We hit Sadam also because he wasn't supposed to have nu-cah-ler weapons. Never mind that he didn't. Who could blame Iran for wanting them too with all the sword shaking we do at them. Cheney, Rumsfeld and friends didn't think we'd stir up a hornets nest going into this mess and now they are suprised? Hey, aren't we coming up on the anniversary of "Mission Accomplished"? All in all, I think a war crimes trial would be appropriate.
  25. Gilligan's Mary Ann is a pothead....

Now I'm thinking the Skipper and the Millionaire might have been up to something on that boat trip. So that's how Thurston Howell III got so wealthy... the free-market pharmaceutical import/export industry? Gilligan was clearly just an off-loader. The professor was likely in charge of the coordinates to meet the mother ship. Ginger was obviously hanging out for the money and thrills.
