Okay people, I know there are those of you from my generation. I'll be sixty in October. Surely someone knows the answer. Hey, my grandchildren know this one. Ouch! That had to hurt!! Sharon

Not even close!! Honey, you are decades away!! Hint, hint!! Sharon
  4. Great News!

Julie, Thanks for your kind words. You will never know how much you are helping your co-worker to grieve, heal and grow to live without her son. This will last her a lifetime and so will your kindness and compassion. Keeping Sean's memory alive is my purpose in this life. He will never be forgotten. Everything I do in his memory, I do in the hope that it can somehow help another grieving family. We need to know that we are not alone. God Bless. Sharon

Okay, who can name what is considered the very first music video? Sharon
  6. Great News!

Thanks for your kind words of support. I will certainly keep y'all posted. Initally, we decided to give this book free of charge to bereaved parents, area funeral homes, hospitals and hospices. Good idea, but with all the feedback I'm getting from family and the ladies I Jazzercise with and just people I come in contact with on a daily basis, I think we can sell this book. Obviously, not for profit, but just to pay to print more copies. This book is awesome, if I do say so myself! We have some very talented people in our midst. There are oceans of people out there whom we could reach and I think this book could be a great teaching tool. Those of us who have lost a child represent a parent's worst nightmare. You don't have to avoid us and not talking about our child is far, far worse than mentioning them. You are not going to "upset" us or be "reminding" us of anything we don't think about always. I hope I have made my son, Sean, proud by telling his story. I started writing another part, as there were things I hadn't remembered the first time around. I guess I wasn't ready. Now, I am. "Dreams are forever and some things you never forget". God Bless. Sharon N. Aycock (AngelSeansMom), Baton Rouge, LA
  7. Great News!

Hi, everyone. What a great Mother's Day gift! I received the "proof" for the book containing my son's story. It's been two years in the making. We will being going to print very soon! It has been titled "Parents Of Angels". I can't begin to tell you how excited and proud I am. My next project will be his webpage. I will keep you posted. For those of you who don't know, I lost my only son, Sean, to cancer on October 12, 1999. He was 29 years old. Sean found this website for me on Christmas Day 1997. He was so proud. I can still see the smile on his face. He knew just how happy he had made me! What a joy he was. I miss him more than I can say. Hug your children a little longer and a little tighter for those of us who can no longer hug ours. God Bless. Sharon N. Aycock, Baton Rouge, LA

  10. singer John Fred dies

A little more information about John Fred, a local boy who made it big, but never, ever forgot his roots. John Fred died from complications after kidney surgery and he had been hospitalized for five months. At his funeral, his gold record for "Judy In Disguise (With Glasses)",was prominently displayed. Those participating at his services included "Big" Luther Kent, G.G.Shinn and Joe Stampley. We know John Fred has joined some great musicians so, "Heaven Must Be Rockin'". Rest In Peace, John Fred. Sharon

Got the message and voted. Guess who is in first place with 86%? No, it's the RASPBERRIES!! Was there ever any doubt? I don't think so. Sharon
  12. Thanks

To all of you who answered my last post and that I thanked personally - you know who you are - I just wanted to thank you publically. I reconnected with old aquaintances and made two very special new friends. I read through some very old e-mails and re-aquainted myself with some old pals. I learned a great deal from those old e-mails, just how very special this "family" is to one another. I also discovered that my son, Sean, found Eric's website for me on Christmas Day, 1997. I can still see the look of joy on his face as he showed it to me. He knew I'd be thrilled and I was! Time to Jazzercise!! Love, Sharon
  13. Saying Hello

Hi, Everyone. I just stopped by to say Hello. I haven't visited in quite a while. Just to bring everyone up to speed, my son's story is soon to be published. For those of you who don't know me or don't remember, my son, Sean, found this terrific website for me virtually at it's birth. He knew what a long time fan of Eric's I was. Sadly, my only son passed away on my birthday, October 12, 1999. He was only twenty-nine years old. I got so many wonderful e-mails of condolence after he died from Eric's fans. You cannot imagine how much it meant to me that those of you who wrote thought enough to take the time. I am hoping that Sean's story will allow those parents in similar situations to know that they are not alone and that there is a way to deal with the most horrific pain you never want to imagine. Hug your children a little tighter and a little longer each time for those of us who can no longer hold ours. Bernie, you have done a beautiful job as webmaster. Keep up the good work. I really will visit more often. Love to all of you. Sharon N. Aycock, Baton Rouge, LA.
